Jamboree celebrated a significant milestone in 2015: 25 years of affordable housing with supportive resident services that change the lives of people and local communities. Hundreds of people gathered on October 9 at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel© & Spa for “A Wave of Opportunity” – a celebration of our legacy, and a showcase of our future. See photos from the celebration in Jamboree’s 25th Anniversary photo album on Facebook.
The gala included live music, unique programming by Disney – featuring incredible feats of strength – and even a signature cocktail. Friends and partners from local government, lenders, developers, design and construction, and community services joined together to support affordable housing as a platform for community change in the next 25 years.
The Wave of Opportunity included creative ways to give financially to support Jamboree’s Resident Services, specifically benefitting families, seniors, and those living with special needs. In 2014 alone, Jamboree provided nearly 10,000 hours of tutoring and enrichment programs for youth and more than 1,000 students participated in our academic achievement program. More than 63,000 pounds of healthy food were delivered to seniors. The 100+ residents who live with a mental illness in our supportive housing all received an average of 20 hours of clinical services each week, helping them to thrive.
The evening closed with a meaningful moment as several residents revealed on printed cardboard the personal impact affordable housing has had in their own lives, followed by dancing into the night.
We’re so grateful to everyone who attended and gave financially to support Jamboree Resident Services. If you’d like to partner with us financially, visit our Give Center.
