Located in downtown Sacramento just blocks from the State Capitol, The Studios at Hotel Berry is a historic, mixed-use renovation and total modernization of the 1920s vintage Hotel Berry that is now affordable furnished studios for individuals and those with special needs. Each furnished studio includes its own kitchenette and bathroom.
During the 2012 renovation, the building’s first floor was remade into community spaces that foster camaraderie. A large community lounge provides seating where residents can unwind and cook together in one of two kitchens. The area also includes an adjacent laundry, computer lab, mail room, game room and lobby.
Twenty-five studios are designated for veterans who qualify for the Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) voucher program. Ten of the 105 studios are designated for those with special needs. These residents –who are formerly homeless and living with persistent mental illness – are offered onsite supportive services through Sacramento’s Transitional Living and Community Support. All residents benefit from the onsite programs offered by Jamboree’s Community Impact Group that focus on job skills, health and wellness and community involvement.
This award-winning, transit-oriented development is located on L Street and 7th in the heart of downtown Sacramento, and is in walking distance of the light rail, bus lines and Amtrak heavy rail, as well as local stores, parks, and employment.
Jamboree worked hard to make the dream of renovating this historic property a reality and will continue to collaborate closely with the City of Sacramento and other partners to keep the property affordable for the long-term.
