UNDER CONSTRUCTION
The Foundation will offer 58 brand-new studios, 1- and 2-bedroom apartment homes dedicated for working families, seniors, and those with special needs at the corner of East 13th Street and Park Avenue in the City of Chico. The four-story residential building will feature common space that includes a community kitchen, a computer lab, and multipurpose rooms for onsite resident services. To promote healthy living and encourage interaction among residents, a central courtyard will feature outdoor barbecues, seating and recreation areas, a community garden, and a small pet area.
All apartment homes will have, energy-efficient appliances and lighting, water-efficient fixtures, and a solar photovoltaic system designed to reduce monthly electricity costs for residents.
The former site of the Jesus Center will be transformed into permanent homes with services for low- and extremely low-income households. Jamboree will provide free onsite residents services that include educational, health and wellness programs for families and seniors, and activities that connect residents as neighbors. Twenty-seven of The Foundation apartments in Chico will be reserved for individuals with special needs. An onsite service coordinator will assist residents in accessing local community services.
Just minutes from downtown, the location in this southwest Chico neighborhood is convenient to the City Plaza, several local schools, dining, shops, and Dorothy F. Johnson Community Center by walking, car, or bike. The property is adjacent to a bus line on Park Avenue. California State University Chico and Enloe Medical Center are less than two miles from the new affordable housing on Park Avenue. The bike-friendly community will include short- and long-term secured bike parking and bike repair stations for residents.
Jamboree will work closely in partnership with the City of Chico, investors, and property management to keep The Foundation a well-maintained, quality, and affordable community to residents for years to come in Butte County.
