Sunrise Pavilion is a clear example of how collaboration and innovation can tackle the need for affordable and supportive housing in San Jose. By turning a hotel into 43 affordable housing units, this initiative focuses on providing a supportive space for Transitional Age Youth (TAY) with permanent housing options.

This community is the result of a joint effort between Jamboree, the City of San Jose, Santa Clara County Housing Authority (SCCHA), the Office of Supportive Housing (OSH), the Bill Wilson Center (BWC), and the State Housing and Community Development's (HCD) Homekey program. Each partner has contributed their strengths and vision towards achieving the common objective of helping TAY achieve stability and independence.

The development is financially supported by over $32 million from HCD Homekey funds and contributions from SCCHA, OSH, and the City of San Jose. This funding is crucial for making the community possible and highlights the importance of public-private partnerships in solving complex societal challenges.

With services provided by BWC and Community Solutions, Sunrise Pavilion goes beyond just being a place to live. It includes comprehensive support for its residents, like career development programs funded by OSH, and is managed by Housing with Heart. Every element of Sunrise Pavilion is designed to promote the residents' well-being and personal growth.

Sunrise Pavilion serves as a model for how to address the housing needs of TAY populations effectively, demonstrating the power of collaborative effort, innovative thinking, and a shared mission. It represents not just a solution for its current residents but also serves as a guide for future developments aimed at making a real difference in people's lives.
