Granite Court was the first residential property in the Irvine Business complex. Jamboree purchased the property and relocated all existing businesses. The compact-design housing adjacent to retail and office space provides much-needed workforce housing. Irvine is a jobs-rich community overall with 2.9 jobs per housing unit. Thousands of residents from other communities commute here every day for work. Creating quality workforce housing reduces traffic, air quality problems and other issues.
Built with sustainable development as a priority, Granite Court is designed with a photovoltaic system that powers common areas, earth-friendly renewable materials in both common areas and resident units, ENERGY STAR appliances in every home, and other green features. The community has a fitness center to help busy residents stay active, and a community center to promote resident interactions and activities.
The financing for Granite Court was brought about through an innovative public/private partnership between Jamboree and the City of Irvine, who have worked together for more than two decades. As a result of this long-term partnership, Irvine boasts the highest number of affordable housing units of any city in Orange County.
Granite Court provides much-needed affordable housing in the heart of the City of Irvine’s dynamic mixed-use area – the Irvine Business Complex – a live/work environment with green, smart growth. Granite Court’s waiting list topped 4,000 names during construction.
